Going Green - Environmental Initiative

In addition to raising funds to assist
Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity in the mission of affordable housing, Habitat ReStore helps the Community by encouraging Recycling and ReUse. 

Each year the ReStore diverts tons of USEABLE solid goods from the landfill.  We encourage businesses and private citizens alike, to THINK before throwing useable items away.  Our Donors have been instrumental in helping us to achieve our goals!

 

In the 2008-2009 year alone, the ReStore has rescued an estimated 800,000 lbs of Solid Materials. 

That’s 400 TONS in ONE YEAR!

In eight years:

1,730 Tons
